RAF High Wycombe Big Brew Up
On Tuesday 2 October 2012, the RAF High Wycombe SSAFA In-Service Committee held a ‘Big Brew Up’ Coffee Morning to raise money for SSAFA, the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association. The main event was held in the Oakeshott Centre and cakes were also taken around some of the offices.
Committee members and volunteers sold tea, coffee and cakes and various stalls were available to start people off with their Christmas shopping. The Big Brew Up was hugely successful and we would like to thank Keith Shelley, from Serco ESS, for donating so many delicious cakes to the event and also all the kind volunteers who baked cakes and brought them along on the day.
We were very lucky to be entertained by our very own RAF High Wycombe Military Wives’ Choir who made their debut at the event and who, despite feeling very nervous, sang beautifully. We look forward to hearing more from them in the future.
Due to the generosity of so many people, we were able to raise the fantastic sum of £1,100 with money still coming in. All the money raised by the committee and volunteers at RAF High Wycombe stays on the station and is used for serving personnel and their families.
