RAF High Wycombe Ladies Choir
The RAF High Wycombe Military Wives choir has enjoyed its first live performance, in support of the SSAFA Big Brew Up, which itself raised over £1,100 for the charity.
Willing members of the service community donated some amazing cakes to the event, which also attracted a number of stallholders to the Station’s Oakeshott Centre. To top it all the RAF High Wycombe Military Wives Choir held their debut performance, attracting a huge crowd, as they took to the stage.
They started the gig with a slow number to entice the audience in, before moving on to a medley of modern upbeat songs – with the audience loving every minute. After the gig, Squadron Leader Natalie Gudgeon, a second soprano in the choir, said, “That was fantastic fun – we have worked so hard – it’s not just about the singing, it’s about feeling the song that you are performing.”
Emma Cheedy, co-ordinator of the choir said, “The Military Wives Choir Foundation was so impressed by the performance that the RAF High Wycombe Choir are now going to be learning the Album songs, as they shall be taking part in the massed MWC events as soon as they are ready! How exciting!”
